Top of the Pops

"Fit or What?"

Singing, dancing and generally leading the whirlwind life of a jet-set chartopper isn’t exactly easy on your average pop star. So it’s a good job those a1 lads keep themselves in tip top condition.

But it’s not like they’re gym-aholic, Mr. Motivator, buns of steel-types or anything. In fact it takes just One Hour a Day of gentle exercise to keep your bod in a pukka physical condition. If you can’t do a whole hour at once you can build up in five or ten minute bursts. Whether it’s a quick turn around the park on your beloved bike, board or blades or a swift splash in the local pool, exercise isn’t just great for the way you look but also the way you feel. And it’s a whole heap of fun to boot.

You don’t need a logo laden one piece Lycra number or exclusive membership to a snooty gym either. All you need is you, as the a1 lovelies demonstrated when they divulged to TOTP their ultimate guide to a superfit physique. Forget “No pain, no gain”. It’s just fun, fun, fun!

Ben – Step 1
“Always wear your comfiest clothes. They don’t have to be a certain sporty brand or anything but just an outfit you can work up a bit of a sweat in. They might get a bit wiffy though so don’t pick your fave glad rags or anything.”

Paul – Step 2
“Dancing is a great way to keep in shape and have loads of fun at the same time. Bung on your favorite tracks and work that bod!”

Christian – Step 3
“Even if you’re going out rollerblading, which might not seem too strenuous, it’s important to have a good stretch first. In fact, whatever kind of physical activity you choose to do, make sure you spend a few minutes warming up, especially if you’re going out to the local park when it’s a bit chilly outside.”

Mark – Step 4
“Why not check out the funky nrgize site by logging on to www.nrgize.co.uk You’ll be able to find out about loads of different activities you can do for one hour each day like BMXing, skateboarding, football, swimming, tennis and dancing to your favorite band’s latest hit, to name but a few. You can also find out what your other favorite celebs, including Britney Spears, Adam Rickett, Fierce and Dermot O’Leary do to keep active. So what’s stopping you? Get Surfing!”

Now… Let’s DANCE!
